hey there!

One of the things I love to do most is travel, so I thought I would share with you all of my trips and all of my tips on making travel super easy and fun!

This past weekend my family and I stayed at the Hyde Resort & Residence in Hollywood, FL. We rented an Airb&b and stayed on the 28th floor. What I didn’t know is that the building had 41 floors and only 1 elevator for the East wing of the building where our penthouse was.

I would rate our experience a 3 out of 5 and that’s being generous. Our condo was beautiful, but the beds were hard as a rock and the water pressure was barely there making showers and toilet flushing a chore.

The pool area was not well thought out at all. It could not accommodate the entire building and what would make matters worse, then there was an owner’s area that was completely empty, but we weren’t allowed to use it because we weren’t owners… Even though we were renting from owners 🙄

Our room came with 2 beach chairs an umbrella and towels, which was awesome, however the beach was PACKED, making it nearly impossible to get a chair. It looked like sardines. Way too crowded for me. Did not love.

But what did I love about this experience? The food! We had dinner at Tereza on the first night. I had the chicken, the kids had the steak and short ribs and everything was delicious. On our second night we ate at Etaru and the food was off the hook delicious!

On our second day we ate at Etaru’s beach hut and that was a disaster. The food took over an hour to get and the portions were sub par.

I also visited the hair salon while I was there and asked her to pin my hair as she blew it out. She told me I needed to bring my own pins🤔. A blowout at a $60 premium and they didn’t have pins? The positive side? My chair faced the ocean so at least the view was nice.

So my overall review for this place would be… a no go! However, the location was great. So if you are patient and like sleeping on harder mattresses maybe this would be somewhere you would like to go. Lol. I, however, will not be returning.

Things that made this trip easier for me….

I am normally a heavy packer, but since this was a quick weekend getaway I didn’t want to deal with extra time in grabbing luggage. Normally, I don’t love hard case suitcases, but I found this great one suitcase that had an area for my laptop and notebook, which I loved. I paired it with an overnight bag instead of a backpack, so I didn’t have to carry anything and had plenty of room for all the things I needed.

I loved this overnight bag because it had a separate compartment for shoes and lots of pockets to keep things organized inside!

My little guy is too big for a stroller, but a little slow in getting around, so I picked him up this cool scooter suitcase. He was the coolest kid at the airport by far! And we were both happy with the speed of travel. If you are traveling with a kid, you NEED this suitcase, trust me!

My beloved packing cubes always come in handy! I love these for organization and because it makes it easy to separate dirty clothes from clean clothes on the way home.

For the hair salon, I always bring my own toxin free products and when I travel I need to do the same! Luckily Pure Haven has travel size supergreens shampoo and conditioner. My hairdresser was so impressed by how it lathered so nicely and the fact that I used zero hair products but had so much shine! You can check out my favorite line HERE.
