
Yesterday morning, I made sweet love to myself…
On my yoga mat.
In my mind.
With my heart wide open.
This may sound poetic or even unusual—but it was profoundly real.
The Power of Mindful Movement
Yoga has become one of my deepest spiritual tools. When I have a teacher who cues well, I often close my eyes for 20–30 minutes, flowing in a moving meditation. It’s during these moments that I connect to something bigger than myself.
Yesterday, the class was dimly lit. The music was slow, sultry, and soulful. The room was moody in the best way—and so was I.
As we moved through each stretch, my teacher began talking about gratitude for the body. Just the sheer gift of being able to show up and practice.
And something shifted inside me.
Speaking Love Into Every Cell
I’ve been falling in love with my body lately. Not in a superficial, surface-level way—but in a soul-deep, reverent way.
So as my teacher spoke those words, it felt like code for my heart. With every breath and posture, I began whispering love to every part of me:
- “Thank you, legs, for carrying me through life.”
- “Thank you, hips, for holding emotion and still moving with grace.”
- “Thank you, heart, for beating when I didn’t always love you back.”
It was intimate, healing, and transformational.
From Self-Hate to Self-Worship
I want to share this because maybe you’ve hated your body too. I did… for most of my life. I fought her. I judged her. I disrespected her.
But now, after years of inner work, shadow work, and tuning into the language of my body. I can honestly say: I am in love with her. Not because she’s perfect, but because she’s mine. Because she stayed with me through it all.
Gratitude Is the Gateway
This level of self-love didn’t come overnight.
It came through:
- Stillness
- Movement
- Breath
- And gratitude
You can shift even the deepest pain or resentment you carry toward yourself. Your healing starts the moment you choose to love what you once resisted.
Anything is possible when you stop fighting yourself and start listening.
