A Treatment With Shilamida

Your treatment starts from the moment you make your appointment. I like to be in control of my own scheduling, so your first interaction will be with me via text or email. Because I am with patients all day, it is not easy for me to get onto a phone call, so if you leave a message, please be patient.  You will not receive a prompt return call, but will receive a response via text or email.

When you arrive at my office, my home away from home and healing oasis, you will be welcomed into a warm inviting space where there is always fresh fruit, snacks, and tea for your enjoyment. If there is one thing I dislike, it is being hungry. As a busy mom, I know what it’s like to run from appointment to appointment. So please make yourself at home and enjoy a complimentary treat!

At your first visit you will fill out an extensive health history, which we will review together. I will give you dietary, vitamin and lifestyle advice based on what I see off of your health history. We will discuss a plan of action and a course of treatment plan. You will receive your first acupuncture treatment on your first visit. I will talk you through each and every needle, and make you feel comfortable and safe the entire time. Once the needles are in you will enjoy some well-deserved rest time. A treatment lasts from thirty minutes to a full hour, and your first treatment will be anywhere from one hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half. If this time is too long for you to get away, you can come prepared with a form filled out prior to your appointment to speed up the process. Forms can be found under the acupuncture section. 

During your treatment we will discuss gratitude and the Law of Attraction. I will help you to change around your thought process in order to heal yourself, and change the course of your life, if that is what you are looking for.  This is my passion and I love to help people change their thought process, and to manifest the life their soul longs to live.

I am not a pain management acupuncturist. I am a life-altering acupuncturist. So the expectation of my patient is to listen to what we discuss and put into action my suggestions. I feel that I am guided by a greater power. The messages that I receive are to guide you. If you are not open and not willing to change, then my office is not the place for you.

I have helped patients across the board and have found my niche in treating anxiety, depression, stress reduction, headaches, migraines, grief and fertility. That doesn’t mean that I will not treat back pain, hip pain etc., what it means is that there is always an underlying emotional attachment to pain and my goal is to uncover and heal that.

When your treatment is over we will schedule you for your next appointment. Acupuncture is progressive. I always recommend a course of 6-8 weekly treatments. If we are dealing with severe pain or trauma, the suggestion may be greater than, but most likely will not be less than. If we correct an issue within the first 3-4 sessions then we can look at spreading out your treatments for the remainder of the suggested course. If you are planning on coming one or two times and expecting a change, please call the next acupuncturist on your list. It took time for you to get to the point of where you are at, and it will take time for you to heal. I am willing to put in the work, if you are.

When you leave my phone is always on. I’m always available to my patients, because my patients become a part of my family. If you ever have a question, a comment or a concern, my line of communication is always open. I am here to help you heal, to guide you, and to educate you on healthy living. We have grown up accustomed to popping pills and running to doctors at every interval of life. I can help you learn how to heal yourself in most situations.
