Apple Cider Vinegar for Digestion {Recipe}

It may seem strange but apple cider vinegar (with ‘the mother’) has multiple health benefits including increasing gut health, helping with heartburn, blood pressure, blood sugar control, and even aiding with weight loss!

How is this possible? Apple cider vinegar contains Acetic Acid which has the unique healing ability to kill ‘bad’ bacteria while at the same time fostering the ‘good’ bacteria!

ACV also contains probiotics, magnesium, potassium, and enzymes. All of these are incredibly health promoting!

So, the tough part is, how to consume apple cider vinegar and make it palatable?

Here is my delicious recipe for Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic!  Take at least once daily but preferably in the morning before eating and at night before bed.

 

Shilamida’s ACV Tonic

Serves 1

1-2 Tablespoons organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with the ‘mother’) – Braggs is a great brand!

4oz warm or cold water

1 Tablespoon organic local honey (or to taste)

Lemon (optional)

  1. Shake the apple cider vinegar bottle so that the sediment (‘mother’) is well combined.
  2. Add 1-2 Tablespoons to glass or mug of water and stir in your honey.
  3. For a bright flavor and health boost you can squeeze in some fresh lemon as well!
